Parade Pictures

Looked like a lot of fun. Wild group.

Spectators getting down with a hoe-down

A peaceful group of kids...

...then the sticks started flying.
I aspire to hair that big.

Nasty job.

Better a clown than me. Actually I really liked how well the people of Grants Pass take care of their city. After the parade a dump truck went along the route and people picked up the litter where they were sitting. Pretty cool.

Ach! Clowns

These merry makers made my day. As I wandered through the background of the parade, enjoying floats, bands, and kid groups I ran into these clowns. I got a ticket for taking a picture without a license...at least I wasn't shot. They killed a rubber chicken with a loud bang.

The Constitution

During the Boatnik parade they had this large copy of the constitution. Viewers were able to add their names below the founding fathers. A fun idea. I still miss the bears.

Gorgeous Omelet - Jealous?

The Grower's Market, one of my typical Saturday mornig haunts, offers a variety of produce, plants, homemade crafts, and food. Here a wonderful lady at the Busy Bee stand presents my omelet. Eat your heart out!

Junk food and hot dogs

With Boatnik and other "carnival" summer activities coming to town I thought I would explore some junk food. If you are ever at the local mall check out this hot dog place. They make some great specialty dogs. I get hiccups everytime I order one of their spicy burnt dogs. As enjoyable as a campfire dog, these people know how to reintroduce your stomach to an American favorite.

Bears Banished!

For the last couple of years Grants Pass has enjoyed a parade of artistic, whimsical bears in the downtown area. This year they have booted the loveable bears for a more patriotic theme. I miss the bears. If they went wild with the eagles like they did the bears I think I would enjoy this year's rendition much more.
